Back on Campus (for Caregivers!): Considerations for College Students in Recovery from Eating Disorders

Cait is currently a Clinical Lead at Within Health and has worked with clients with eating disorders for more than 10 years at all levels of care. She currently facilitates Within’s groups for professionals with eating disorders and is co-chair of the AED's Professionals & Recovery special interest group. Cait received both her master's in Art Therapy and MSW from NYU. Cait is passionate about creating an affirming, safe, creative space for therapy through the lens of Health at Every Size®, Intuitive Eating, trauma-informed, and social justice frameworks.

Grace Ellen Hanna (she/her) is the Senior Care Coordination Manager at Within Health where she provides intensive case management services to to individuals with eating disorders and their families. She has a B.S. in sociology, classics, and public administration from Florida State University, and will graduate with her MSW in December 2024. Grace Ellen is particularly interested in the process of recovery for people with long-term eating disorders, the transition from adolescent to adult treatment settings, and social justice and health equity frameworks. She is currently the Co-Chair of the Professionals & Recovery SIG for the Academy of Eating Disorders and a Team Lead for support group leaders at ANAD.

Jaime is a registered dietitian with over three years of experience supporting clients with eating disorders in both intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care. Jaime provides individualized nutrition therapy rooted in Health at Every Size (HAES), intuitive eating, mindfulness, and self-compassion. Her goal is to support clients in achieving a healthier relationship to food that embraces flexibility, freedom, and authenticity in their choices. Jaime attended UMass Amherst for her bachelor's degree and then went on to complete her dietetic internship at Massachusetts General Hospital. Jaime is in the process of obtaining her master's degree in nutrition education and counseling and hopes to play an active role in increasing eating disorder education and awareness in academic settings in the future.

Tessa aims to keep their work at the nexus of food and conversation. They approach their work with curiosity, patience and humility, and practice care with a transformative justice lens in all of the people-centered work they do. ‍ Their food knowledge is informed by several years of cooking and growing food in different environments, such as treatment centers, public schools, private residences and restaurants. They have also been mentored by chefs, cooks, food growers and caregivers who resonate with their belief that food is far more than sustenance—that it is a vehicle for connection and conversation and that foodways hold the stories of people.
